Confex boost for Kickworldwide
Kickworldwide again took centre stage at the second African Executive football summit in Jo’burg.
Following the successful first summit in Accra last year, Kickworldwide Director Steve Bellis was again invited to speak at the conference which is growing in stature at an incredible rate.
The Confex, held at the impressive Wanderers complex, attracted some of the leading figures in African football including World cup organising chief Danny Jordaan and the CEO of the South African Football Association Dr. Robin Petersen.
Also in attendance were English Premier League clubs Liverpool FC and Sunderland demonstrating their intent to take the African market seriously.
It was a huge honour for Kickworldwide to be invited to present at this increasingly auspicious event and it turned out to be a highly successful one for the company.
Steve will be back on the African continent this summer to progress a series of new business projects with five countries intent on taking the Soccer Prince format and four looking to develop the Institute and Outreach Programme initiatives.
Steve will also be meeting with Dr. Petersen at SAFA House to talk about a series of potential joint initiatives. The Confex turned out to be something of a reunion for the two as they originally met 11 years ago at Edgeley Park when Steve was the Commercial General Manager at Stockport County and Robin was the CEO of the South African Premier League.
Dr. Petersen revealed “I remember my visit to Stockport well. They were implementing some very pioneering community and commercial initiatives at the time and it was one of the highlights of our UK visit”.
The confex also provided a great opportunity for Kickworldwide to stand side by side with Liverpool FC to promote the strong relationship and the opportunities available through this partnership.
The man behind this highly successful event, Edward Abankwa commented ““Steve is a great speaker who has been supporting African Football Executive Confex from its inception in 2011. His presentations are funny and informative – and always engage the audience.
His presentation got top marks from delegate feedback at Confex 2012 and we look forward to working with him and Kickworldwide again next year!”
