THREE MORE SEASONS FOR SOCCER PRINCE IN SAUDI
Saudi broadcaster Rotana has secured the rights for Soccer Prince for three more seasons. The agreement follows the success of the show on the Rotana Khalijia channel which saw Liverpool legend John Barnes crown Munter Lulualnakhli as the eventual winner.
Soccer Prince was a ‘ratings’ hit outperforming all previous shows in the same time slot and the talent was of such a standard that the two runners up were also invited to spend a month being developed in the UK.
Pre-production for the second series is due to commence in the Spring of 2016 with the show going to air in the fourth quarter and the winner arriving in the UK at the beginning of 2017.
Kickworldwide Director Steve Cartwright commented ‘We are delighted to be able to work once again with Rotana. Their professionalism and enthusiasm is boundless and they have a real appetite for our show. We look forward to delivering more successful shows and providing life changing opportunities for the young football talent in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’.
The success of the first series has also seen interest from a number of other countries in the Middle East and North Africa.
